Spinning Drum

The Spinning Drum is a classic Montessori material for infants aged 6 months and up. The material consists of a wooden drum with several panels of differing bright colors - one with a mirror-like surface.

Through play, the child is mesmerized by the beautiful bright colors, and fascinated upon seeing their own face in the drum. These activities help refine visual development, and the soft soothing sound created when the drum is spun stimulates auditory sensory formation.

Hand-eye coordination is improved, as is core muscle strength, fine and gross motor skills, and the understanding of cause and effect.
